Come and celebrate two shows. The opening of Bonyi Living Culture and the closing of Blak Camp: New Works in Progress Exhibition
We will kick off celebrations at 5pm with a welcome and yarn.
There will be live music organised and performed by lead music mentor and Yalinji woman, Deline Briscoe. With special guests - Aunty Dawn Daylight, Keely Eggmolese, Kingston and Merindi.
Birthday party and cake for Aunty Dawn Daylight including a photo booth opportunity!

BLAK CAMP 2024: New Works in Progress Exhibition
Join us at Munimba-ja Arts Centre to witness the incredible works in progress created by the participants of BLAK CAMP 2024.
After an inspiring week at Blak Camp, participants have continued developing their new printmaking skills and concepts in our studio space in Nambour. This exhibition reflects their progress, showcasing the raw and evolving strength of their work.

Join us in Uncle Noel’s temporary bedroom to create your own postcards. Create one to send to Uncle at the Cherbourg Elders home and one to send to your own elder.

The First Nations Artist Multi-Disciplinary Camp is a MOB ONLY on-country 5 day artist camp/residency where 10 selected First Nations Artists living on or connected to the Sunshine Coast Region (Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country) and local areas in South East Qld will work with senior practitioners, mentors and industry leaders to learn new skills, critique and explore their creative practice and opportunities within the arts industry.

Mimburi meaning continual flow in Dungidau, (the language of artist Enid Morris) embodies the stories, memories, lessons and teachings that both artists Enid Morris and Clea North share in this exhibition, and throughout their processes of creating.

Clea North is a Mithika and Gunggari woman working and living on Gubbi Gubbi country. She is also a member of BLAK CRAETIVES and will run this MOB ONLY workshop sharing her skills and passion for watercolour painting.

FRINGE
The exhibition is curated by emerging artist and first time curator Zartisha Davis - Gubbi Gubbi supported by Munimba-ja, and brings together two artists, Aidan Rowlingson Kabi Kabi and Lexie Abel - Wiradjuri descendent, to respond to the impacts and evidence of colonisation on Aboriginal people, focusing on their own family stories and ancestry.

These blankets, vases and accompanying ochre paintings have been created by artists Libby Harward and Bj Murphy.
This beautiful Bonyi Bajara paintings and product range is an expression of the artists' ongoing cultural connections and tells the stories of their families travelling across country to come together for the sacred Bonyi - Bunya Gatherings.
