Boundaries at Bankfoot is an afternoon gathering set against the evocative backdrop of the historic Bankfoot House under Mt Tibrogargan – a site layered with stories of settlement, displacement and resilience – inviting audiences into a space of reflection and dialogue.

Join Dr Hope O’Chin for a cuppa as she shares her space for an "In Conversation" with Munimba-ja Blak Creative artist Brenda Mau.

Aunty Hope will take us on a journey through life stories, achievements, artistic practices, and the importance of her creative expression in community and Country.

Following the conversation, you will engage in a hands-on art-making workshop with Dr Hope O'Chin. Using high-quality acrylic paints and collage materials, you will make marks that belong to your story and create a personal reflection on canvas inspired by the discussion and shared experiences of the day.

Join Norton Fredericks for this workshop where participants will be guided how to mindfully create humanity’s oldest fabric, wool felt. Felt is an ancient craft practice that combines soapy water and wool to create a sustainable biodegradable material. Create bespoke surface design with natural fibres of hemp and flax and stitch a personal symbol for manifestation.

During the workshop, Norton will be sharing about their arts practise as a queer indigenous artist who is thinking critically about the intersection between art and science.

Celebrate the season and the spirit of Country by crafting your own native floral wreath. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to build a natural base using foraged and sustainable materials, then weave in native blooms and botanicals to create a one-of-a-kind piece.
