The First Nations Artist Multi-Disciplinary Camp is a MOB ONLY on-country 4 day artist camp/residency where 6 selected First Nations Artists living on or connected to the Sunshine Coast Region (Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country) will work with senior practitioners, mentors and industry leaders to explore creative practice and opportunities within the arts industry. 1 day of the camp will be open to all First Nations Artists living on or connected to Sunshine Coast advertised through Blak Creatives network. Arts Practise is multi disciplinary (any form inc curation, writing, dance, performance, design, visual art ect)

The Camp will be held on Kabi Kabi- Gubbi Gubbi country in the Sunshine Coast hinterland at Cambroon

It will hold Master classes in

• Local Cultural History and protocols and practice

• Artistic Practice -eg drawing, Ephemeral art, Experimental and Relational practices, Design

• Arts Research

• Family Research and connection

• Arts Business skills

• Public Art

The Camp provides participating artists exciting opportunities for further support through networks, business development and creative partnerships.

The camp will be coordinated by Libby Harward - Quandamooka Artist and Director of Munimba-ja an Aboriginal owned and run Art Gallery, Shopfront and Studio Space on Jinibara country and the only First Nations run Gallery on the Sunshine Coast in consultation with the Blak Creatives network

The Camp will be held on Kabi Kabi- Gubbi Gubbi country in the Sunshine Coast hinterland at Cambroon

important information

Bl:ak Camp will be held on Kabi Kabi Country in Cambroon Artists will be camping in “Glamping Tents” . The workshops will be held outdoors and under basic cover. Toilets and showers will be basic you will be walking country and there is a nearby creek for daily swims.

BLAK CREATIVES is supported through the Creative Industries Investment Program and is jointly funded by ArtsCoast through Sunshine Coast Council’s Art and Heritage Levy and the Regional Arts Development Fund in partnership with Queensland Government.

BL:AK CAMP is supported directly by ArtsCoast through Sunshine Coast Council, Australia Council for the Arts and Noosa Regional Council

NB: SELECTED ARTISTS will be paid a $400 stipend for participation
