The exhibition is curated by emerging artist and first time curator Zartisha Davis - Gubbi Gubbi supported by Munimba-ja, and brings together two artists, Aidan Rowlingson Kabi Kabi and Lexie Abel - Wiradjuri descendent, to respond to the impacts and evidence of colonisation on Aboriginal people, focusing on their own family stories and ancestry. The exhibition provides a space for these artists to reconnect with their family stories and how dispossession and removal have affected their own connection to their country and its people.

Through the use of textiles both artists are imagining, remembering, relating, listening, researching, reliving, connecting, understanding and holding their Grannies. This exhibition and accompanying public program will allow audiences to connect to stories of dispossession that still exist within our daily lives as well as the joys of continuing culture and love celebrations and deep respect.
