Join us in Uncle Noel’s temporary bedroom to create your own postcards. Create one to send to Uncle at the Cherbourg Elders home and one to send to your own elder.

"Guess Who's Coming to the Corroboree: Late Night Sketches by Uncle Noel Blair"

"Guess Who's Coming to the Corroboree" offers an intimate look into the life of Uncle Noel Blair, entering his recreated bedroom you can have a “Dorrie” * into  his personal belongings. The exhibition is filled with intimate details depicted in hundreds of  late-night felt pen and pen and ink sketches. You might even find the odd love note or some other items to gossip about. This show will be filled with this old Black fella’s humour, historical narratives, personal memories, political commentary and lotsa Black love. 

The exhibition is a collaboration with Ngugi Quandamooka curator Libby Harward, and follows their previous collaboration, "Ganan Ganan - Poor Fella Me,". 

In this new exhibition Uncle Noel will touch on his challenges with Parkinson's disease, absconding from nursing homes, memories of growing up under the Aboriginal Preservation and Protection Act and the state of the current world as he see’s it. 

"Guess Who's Coming to the Corroboree”  is a fun and personal look into Uncle Noel’s nightly thoughts and deliberations .
